A well-established international law firm is seeking an Attorney with 5+ years of litigation experience to join their team. The practice focuses on general liability, product liability, premises liability, and catastrophic injury matters, with opportunities to collaborate closely with a specialized Aviation practice group. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience taking and defending depositions, drafting and responding to discovery, preparing and arguing motions, and preparing pre-trial materials. The attorney must be proactive, highly organized, and possess strong research and writing skills. This role involves regular interaction with opposing counsel and clients in a professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of 10-20 matters
Investigate claims and develop case strategies
Draft and respond to discovery requests
Review and analyze documents for production
Conduct legal research using Westlaw
Take and defend depositions
Draft pleadings and motions, and argue motions in court
Prepare pre-trial and trial documents
Prepare cases for mediation or trial, and participate in both
Communicate effectively with clients regarding case progress
Essential Skills & Experience
Excellent academic credentials from a reputable law school
Admission to the California Bar
Significant experience in all aspects of civil litigation
Exceptional legal writing, communication, and advocacy skills
Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple matters efficiently
Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly
